Default Buying 99 900rr

Hows it going guys, this is my first post here, i currently own an 06 1000rr but im looking for another toy and found a 99 900rr on CL. I talked to the owner and heres what he told me about the bike. Its been sitting for 2 years, new wife wont let him ride..it has 35k on the clock, and so far has only had one full tune up. newish tires and just needs a new batt and the clutch is starting to slip on him. so im asking anyone here that might have some knowledge of these bikes to let me know if there is anything in particular that i should be looking for?
i already figured that with 35k on it its gonna need a valve adjustment and since its been sitting all new fluids and maybe even new tires. but what else if any. thanks in advance

The bike is over its 10 year period, I bought one and its a full rebuild atm. With it sitting like that the carb's are gummed up and will need redone. and depending on if they did wheelies etc, second gear was always a problem with the 900rr, be sure it doesn't pop out of gear above 5 grand. I would find something a bit newer with fuel injection vs carbs.

And that damn 16" front wheel is a PITA to find tires for. CCT tend to check out as well. Regulator/Rectifier is weak.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else, as long as they are well maintained.

A bike that old 99' with 35K...does not crank? Who knows what else I wrong with it...it's a gamble depending on how much asking price is? Money talks....if cheap, build project is ok.
