Advise For A Newcomer On 95 900RR
 

Hi to all, newbie to this forum. Am considering to get myself a 95 CBR900RR soon. Would like some advise or comments on this model. Is this model easy to maintain and modify as compared to so many of the later ones? Thanks in advance.

its an awsome stunt bike.. mine is a 93 with 40,000 miles and still rides like a champ..

i havnt owned mine for over a month now its got under 20k miles, but it still rides like almost brand new i wanna say. havnt had a single problem yet, as for maintenance, if you ever need a new engine, i know that an ENTIRELY new engine off ebay is only like 500-600 bucks. the other engine work is pretty cheap same goes for the plastics as long as you dont go to the factory and buy them. the guy who i happend to buy the bike off of is pretty experienced with these bikes, and he slipped a 03 954(had to slim it out a bit) engine in his instead of buying a new bike just for the 'fuel injection' experience.

not to go off topic, but im very glad i went this route on my first supersport. i didnt spend more than $3000 to own a great bike, and i probably wont spend more than another $1000 on a brand new 99 bodykit that already has paint and the full yosh exhaust i already got to make the bike look sweet. i know alot of guys out there go straight to the bank with theres. they put the down payment down, and after insurance and such, theyre paying in the 350/400ish range montly which is insane(i was gonna do it on a triumph daytona 650). just pay cash and you have nothing to worry about.....

Just sold my 95' CBR Purple/Fluorescent Yellow color scheme in Aug! Had her for almost 10 solid years, super bike in all it's true meanings. Devastated the competition from the get go from it's first inception in 93. The 95 still had the 16 inch front end rim so you might consider a steering dampner for abnormal speeds or increase the front size to the current 17"... Good times with your 95 model. I've just wrangled in a 1000RR and I hope it lasts as well as my 95 did! I'm kind of a bigger guy, so the width was a must vs all this new thin riding profile of the newer bikes that is currently the thing, lean angle and CG, etc. Anyway, you'll enjoy the 95! What a sweet ride. :D

i have had mine 93 900rr for awhile and its a bad bike buti crashed mine last season and im starting to learn that finding parts for this bike is not very easy! but i also dont have alot of experience working on them my previous bike was a newer model and basically just winterizing and new tires. but it is a mean mother and riding it is totally worth the hunt for parts!
