Default 99 Undertail

Me and my buddy just installed my ebay undertail for my 1999 CBR900RR yesterday, it probably one of the worst part and instructions I have ever received in my life. Took us about 6 freaky hours to remove, trim/cut the dang fender/stock undersection (whatever you call it). And my friend is an handyman and can fix anything. I mean anything and we had a really hard time. Actually what took so long is trimming/cutting the fenders/undersection, we did not want to cut too much so we cut little by little until we were able to fit the undertail.

I wanted to know if this is just a normal experience or we just did not have enough detailed instructions. I will post pics as soon as I find my digital camera. It looks good and all but I think it's not worth all the hassle and problems we've experienced.

WHo else here have an undertail on there 900rr and can you guys post pics?

Nice bike! We had to remove the whole almost the whole underside (compartment). The only thing we did'nt have to cut/trim is the battery section since we need it. How's your Pirelli Diablos on your bike? That is what I am planning to buy next time.

P.S. I can't find my stupid digital camera, I will have to buy another. I will post pics of my undertail on Monday.

There expensive but have great traction and still hold up to highway use.

My "undertail" was done just like Ironfox's. I think it was just the factory tail cut off and I still have the trunk intact. Pic:

I have since changed it a little bit to suck up the plate a little bit more. I will try to get some more pics.

Yeah, same here, the guy who had mine before me had done all the work for me and while he was at it, he integrated the turn signal lights into the brake light.
