99 blade front axle
Hi guys
I'm doing up a blade I bought a few Month back and have come across a small (maybe not so small) problem. the front wheel axle and bolt are stripped. I had it at a engineers today and they said it was fooked. I don't fancy spending £100 or so on a new one if I can get them and there seems to be none on fleabay. I know one from a 98 900rr fits but can't get any. Does any of the other cbr's share the same axle so I can try get one. Thx https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...1da1b1bed5.jpg spelling error |
I like to use Partzilla as a reference for related fitment applications. The link below is for your years part number and sells for $53 (about £48). Not sure what the shipping charge would be as it is US based. But maybe worth a look if you haven’t seen this one yet.
https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/44301-MZ5-000 hope it helps. *edit note* if you scroll down to the bottom of the page (link) you will see the related fitment list. This may help you search under other models on eBay. |
Could try here, 52.5 Euros, not sure how much the shipping would be:

I have another question if anyone can help? the rear shock is a Hagon i think but is shot, leaking more than a sieve lol with all the other things i have bought for the bike its adding up and cant afford to buy a new shock. is there any other shock that will be a direct fit that will work? bought so far new boots for her 2nd hand genuine fairing 2nd hand black screen nose cone mounting bracket. new grips 2nd hand seats front and rear 2nd hand mirrors service things, oil filter, plugs leads and caps etc battery front and rear wheel bearings clutch kit front wheel axle tail light fork seal kit front and rear discs and pads chain and sprockets. Not fitted yet. i want to keep her stock as much as possible but she needs work lol pics of what it looks like so far https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...b1bcc36e93.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...eb0819aff0.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...ec5d3c68b0.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...10b3bd6b5b.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...d1883fff75.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...0dcf5b6fdf.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...3591c8f827.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/cbrforu...1085f9cd21.jpg |
Nice and clean! I don’t know much about the shock to help you in your request. Mine is still solid and haven’t had to (re)search repair/replacement options yet.
Though you may want to re-route your throttle cables under the upper tree as once you put your tank back on you will encounter some binding and unsightly rubbing and scuffing of the tree. |
yeah I am stripping the rest of her down and cleaning it, it was filthy when I got her.
the throttle cables came like that, I know I need to move them but I will get to that when I strip and rebuild the carbs. most of the bike parts were heavily corroded so cleaning every bolt and part I can and re bluing them where possible or painting that is taking ages. its going to be a labour of love I have to say, but will be worth it in the end. im in no rush for the shock this year, cant see me getting her done this year but will be good to see if I can get another one from another bike or year . |
Good luck for you journey, have to say looking fantastic so far.
Well done great effort. |
