RE: 97 front wheel

I dont know man. If everyone says an F3 wheel will fit, with some modifications then I would assume it woudl work. The rotors are most assureadly different. If you have all the 93 spacers, rotors, axel, etc. it should just bolt on. The actual wheel it self is probably no different, but the rotors Im sure will be.

RE: 97 front wheel

yea i got set of 97 rotors for the wheel. i just wasn't sure if i needed diff. spacers and ****. but it sounds like it should work so we'll find out. thanks for the help.

RE: 97 front wheel

NO NO, that's not what I meant. I meant you will most likely need 93 rotors and bolt those onto the 97 rim. Also use 93 spacers and axel. Only use the 97 rim. Kinda like the F3 conversion. I need to use all 900RR parts except for the actual rim. Then it'll bolt right on.

RE: 97 front wheel

i tried bolting the 93 rotors to the 97 wheel, they're too big...

RE: 97 front wheel

What are too big? The 93 rotors are bigger than the 97? I cant find the diamater of those years. The 99 is 310mm. Not that that helps you. Is the bolt patern the same? I cant imagine they went down in diameter over the years but maybe. Will the 97 rotors fit your calipers? I would guess the 97 rotors are larger in diameter and woudl therefore not work with your calipers. They might even be thinner. What happend to your 93 rim that you are changing?

RE: 97 front wheel

well mostly b/c i don't like the white spray paint look. got a good deal on the wheels and figured it'd be pretty easy....

i was also hoping i could fix another problem at the same time. my current front wheel is on backwards, this is because when you put it on the right way the rotor hits the fork tube. so i don't know if i have the wrong spacers or what. i was gonna try the new wheel and see if it was still off. what are your thoughts?

RE: 97 front wheel

HOLY ****!! Backwards? There should be an arrow on the rim pointing in the direction of rotation. Does this point the right way? If not, turn that bitch around. There is no reason a rim should be backwards. I dont know what ill effects this would have if any, but I would imagine there wouldnt be an arrow pointing "This way" if it didnt make some sort of difference.

RE: 97 front wheel

hahah, ya see thats what i'm trying to fix. b/c when its on the right way, the rotor hits the fork tube. its definetly on backwards, there is no questioning it. think i need some different front wheel spacers? thoughts?
