Everyone, I'm comtemplating a trade, my '94 CBR 900RR for a '01 CBR 929. I'm looking for some feedback on how everyone thinks these bikes compare. I haven't riden a 929 yet so this isn't a for sure thing, and I don't know how they feel, just found a local guy that may be selling his 929 and I'm thinking of proposing the trade or just buy his straight up. That would mean selling my 900rr for the $. Give me some opinions, Thanks!

 

my 929 is geared up 2 in the rear and has a acropovic bolt-on. the nose wont stay down in first. 929 must have a steering damper, head shake is a reall problem. the front end feels very light even at low speeds. i actually prefer the feel of it to the 900.
my 900 is geared stock w/ jet kit, filter and full exhaust. i bought it from a buddy of mine that weighs almost 100 lbs more than me. if i was on the 900 and he was on the 929 it was a pretty close race. vice versa wasnt much of a race, i pulled away after second gear every time. not a bunch but enough to beat him...
personally i like the 929 better, fuel injection is spot on in any weather. no choke needed in the morning. the trunk is actually bigger on the 929. i even use the sides to stow my heavy gloves. i never knew how muched i missed the 929 clock...
basically the seat of the pants dyno doesnt give much of a power difference. the steering is what feels most different to me between the 2.
