94 900rr radiator fan
I bought a 94 900rr and it seems to me that when I am letting it idle it becomes very warm and the radiator fans do not kick on. The temp needle hits a little over halfway when it's left sitting, but as soon as I take off the temp drops to about 1/4 of the way between cold and hot. I was wondering at what point the radiator fan is supposed to kick on, and where the coolant temp sensor for the fan is. I appreciate your help. Thanks

RE: 94 900rr radiator fan
I have a 95 and mine rides a little hot while it is sitting also, its the nature of the beast when a big engine goes in a small frame and they put a small radiator in it. After all the 900 is just an oversized 600 f3 in theory. My sensor is on the right hand side, if you are looking at the headlight, on the side of theradiator, it has a wire coming off of it. Does your fan come on at all?

My '93 gets pretty damn tosty on the legs. Run it and let it idle, park it and watch the gauge go up. If you hit the red before the fan turns on then check some things out. Otherwise, you'll see when your fan kicks in!!
