it sucks ownin this bike cuz nobody recognizes this year even this forum goes from 93-99cbr 900rr to 00-01 cbr 929rr no mention of 2001 CBR 900RR

Wow, i wasn't aware they made the 900rr in 2001! Can you post up some pics, I've never even seen one. You sure its not a 929, The titles on 929's and 954's still refer to them as 900's!

CBR900RR: 1993-1999
CBR929RR: 2000-2001 CBR954RR: 2002-2003 The 929 was an all-new model and doesn't share parts with the 900RR ... even though the VIN says "CBR900". |
so ur saying even tho on the vin tag it says cbr 900rr it is actually a 929rr
|
i even did the vin search on line and it came up a 2001 and the vin tag on the frame states cbr 900 im hoping its like u said spiritrr that its a 929rr but is there any way to be sure so i can order parts
|
Just as Spirit mentioned, Honda still refers to the 929 and 954 as 900RRs. So most states that list the model on the title will call it a 900RR and it will be considered a 900RR on Honda's Microfiche.
If it's a 2001 it is a 929RR though..... 2000-2001 929s are the same. 2002-2003 954s share numerous parts with the 929s but not all parts are interchangable. Save for the gas cap and some fasteners, I can't think of much that the 929-954 hve in common with the 93-99 900RR. |
Maybe this will help. Note the difference in the head lights.
The yellow one is a 97 900rr, the red is a 01 929rr, and the silver is a 03 954rr (the one in the front with no lower plastic is a 94 900rr, but thats easily spotted by two round headlights not shown here) https://cbrforum.com/forum/picture.p...pictureid=8487 |
the vin sticker on the side of both the 929 and 954rr says 900rr because it is a 900 class bike. But spirit is right.

is that like the 98/99 900RR is actually a 919? it has a few differences from the 97 and older models as well. just enough to be a PITA, too, if you need parts for a 98 [a-hem.....:icon_angel:]
