1997 CBR transmissions issues

Hey everyone! New here as I just got a hold of a 97 CBR 900rr recently and it needs some transmission work. I know for certain right now that 2nd gear is completely gone and just spins in clicks whenever you try to shift into it. I found a set of 94 CBR 900rr transmission gears for sale and my 1st question would be would those be sutible to use in a transmission rebuild for my 97? I know the 1st through 4th ratios differ by a small margin but I have had no luck in finding 97 specific tranny gears to purchase and use for it. Anyone know any hidden good ol hidden sites I can get those gears from if the set from the 94 year wont work?

Thanks! :)

Have you taken anything apart to see what's actually wrong? It's most likely a shift fork or a worn shift drum. It'd take a hell of alot more power than these engines can produce to damage the gears themselves
