wind knocked over the bike

Well, the title says it all. My heart sunk when I saw it last night when I got back home. I had to call a friend to come help me pick it up. It got a few scratches, but thank god nothing major. I just need to replace the turn signal.

I feel very stupid, but I still can't think of what I could have done differently. I had a cover on, so that might have made things worse, but using the cover was also necessary. Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas?

I doubt it. There was a lot of wind the other day, so it would have to be a big coincidence. I had turned the handle bars, but I think there is a little bit of an incline (very little), which I guess made it easier to be toppled. Now I have parked it the other way around.

Anyway, I could post pictures, but there isn't much point. Just a bent/broken turn signal and very few/small scratches. Frankly, looking at it with the light of the day, it looks better than I had thought. Most of the impact was taken by the handlebar slider and footpegs it seems.

iunno. sounds like someone knocked it over. bikes are pretty heavy and it takes some force to knock over, sucks to hear it went down either way.

I know it sounds unlikely, but you'd be surprised how much the wind can actually do. I had an '84 V65 Sabre 1100 sittin on it's center stand (heavy bike--but fast as ****) and the wind knocked it right over one night. Watched it happen. Might've been a ghost though. [8D]
