Default Wheel tape

I am thinking about getting Progrip wheel tape, and wondering how durable they are for cleaning. I use thing spray called Showroom shine or Honda spray sprayed on the cloth and wipe the bike down including the rims every week. Will it come off by doing that eventually?

I dont have rim tape myself but my friend bought some cheap stuff of ebay and so far its held up after about 8 months. He cleans his wheels with a rag as well.

As long as your not scrubbing hard i think youll be fine.

I did it, but not too happy with how it came out. I don't have a stand, so I had to move the bike as I did it. It is sloppy job. Plus I didn't know the reflective red will turn into orange in the light..

At least you have more visibility since it is reflective

How did you applying it neatly? I swear I thought I was doing it pretty good while I was doing it. Then after it was done, I stood back and look at it, it is so wobbly.

most of the wheel tape kits have a little piece of plastic (with no instructions on how to use btw) that once you figure out how this highly engineered piece of technology works, makes your life, and putting the tape on, much easier.

If you have a stand it is a lot easier, if not, then grab a buddy and have him roll it forward as you slap that tape on, just make sure your sitting on the bike. Nothing worse than dropping your bike when trying to make it look better. (not from experience or anything....)

Yumon, that looks great. Your bike is nasty looking. Nice work. I got some tape in the mail the other day, that I have yet to try and put on. I did it once and it came out horrible, I can only hope this time it comes out looking nice.

Thank you. I took some more pics this morning. If you don't concentrate on it, bike does looks good. Confession... I did overlap the ends... and one wheel that I put on and peeled it off and put it back on, the end is coming off. It is still overlapping. so I will try to use a knife gently to cut it off. I notice it because I know where it is.

My neighbor thinks my tape is ugly, which I agree. So he volunteered to redo my wheels. Cool!!
