What is your general opinion of the Kawasaki zx6r?

I'm just looking for the your general opinion of this bike. Have you ever ridden one? Why didn't you chose to go with the similar year zx6r over the bike you ride now?

Because like most kawi products its complete crap. Why would you ask such a question on a honda forum for your first post?

I don't know why, but for some reason the nostalgia isn't there. I don't see it as a 600cc bike. I mean why not just make it a 750 like the gixxer? Its got a few cc's to make it more tame, instead of being like the usual frenetic 600. A good 5-8whp more, but really not anything that shows on the track. Basically i see it as a cheater.

The zx6r does not have the build quality or durability of the Honda. Anyone can tell you that. What the zx6r does have (depending on the year) is better out of the box power and throttle response (or feeling of it). If you want to go back to the '04-'05ish era, the kawi felt more flickable The current era the zx6-r has traction control and has returned to the 636 format, but the CBR600RR has better ABS, a lot more user friendly as far as power curve and suspension feedback and the Kawi's steering damper is a joke compared to any others on the market... might as well use it as a door stop or a paper weight.

It's pretty much splitting hairs when it comes to the performance department, but Honda has a very strong edge up until the latest generations (and that's due to little data from the latest reiteration of the zx6r) when it comes to reliability and overall quality.

Rode an 06 zx6R

I didn't really like ZX6R to be honest. The ergo's were a little uncomfortable and the bike felt a tad bit heavy/wide. I noticed I had to fight with the bike a little more than the CBR to get it into the right spot. Suspension and brakes are about the same as the 600RR. It's not a bad bike at all for the price. But I'd pick a CBR over a Kawi any day.
