Got some news that Honda been buy by Chinese so CBR stand for China Bike Rider hard to believe this T.T

CBR doesnt stand for crap. When Honda first started building bikes they called them "Cub". Cub this and Cub that, eventually dropping the "u". Thats all there is to it. Some people think it stands for something are probably the ones who went out and bought one just because they added an extra "R" or "X" or "Z" or whatever.

I believe the following...

They identify the engine configuration & type ... such as CB, GL, VF, VT etc.

If the bike's engine is built to race specification, it gets a further designator "R".

CB= Inline-four engine
VF= V-four engine
VT=V-twin engine
GL= Opposed Cylinder Engine
