Trying to bring an RR5 back from the dead
Got a bit of a project going. The bikes been dropped and the forks need sorting, but its also been sat under a cover for 7 years. I've had the tank off, its rusty and the petrol in it was like cola. currently I'm electrolysising* the out of the tank, but the pump is pretty clogged. I've taken the mesh out and cleaned that, but I'm not optimistic about the pump working. Trying to keep the costs down and a new pump looks expensive. and I cant find an oval 2nd hand one. Can I fit an earlier tank with the round filter? Also, not sure what I need to do to the rubbish out of the rest of the system as never tinkered with an injection bike,,

Finally found the soldering iron so the alarm is toast. Pump relay clicks but pump does nothing so I've ordered the kit. A quick squirt of carb cleaner up the pipe and the bike ran, albeit very briefly for the first time in 7 years so there is progress. There's a crack where the alternator cover had a short argument with the M25 to sort out next..

Gosh , I thought it was all together, just another thing ,it would be a good idea to bypass the safety stuff , BAS ,Clutch Switch and Sidestand switch, as the BAS is part of the Light harness , it will need bypassing on the harness, remember the PDF manual is USA there are slight differences (Hiss) so stick to the Haynes Manual for Wiring diagrams, maybe the BAS is stopping it starting
