Default Think this is a good deal? 09 cbr 600rr

This will be the first vehicle I've purchased on my own, just looking for some advice.

I sold my starter bike earlier this week for 1600$ and have been looking at upgrading to a 2009 600rr.

While poking about the internet I found a dealership selling a new one for 8000~ and got quoted it would be 9200~ with fees/taxes. I'm sure I could haggle them down some with a down payment as well.

Think 9200 is a good price? or what price should I go for?

I agree with playful here, $9200 OTD is way too much for a 2 year old bike even if it does have 0 miles on it. Also are you sold on a brand new bike? If so then try to bring them down some. Or you can search the internet and find a practically brand new bike for half the cost. I got my 07 with 2600 miles on it in MINT condition. He even threw in a sweet Honda Joe Rocket jacket for $5200. To me it was worth saving 4 grand for 2600 miles and 2 years older.

Defiantly sounds like you got a good deal there!

I'm more sold on the fairings that are on it, its the phoenix edition and it screamed at me first time I saw it. That it was also new seemed like icing on the cake for me.

Fairings from 09 and 11 would be compatible correct? If so I could buy the fairings later and sell the stock fairings to recoup the money.

Yeah man I think I got a deal as well. I was actually looking at buying the Phoenix edition as well. But the dealer and I just could not come to terms on the price. I think they wanted something like $9500 OTD and I was willing to do $7500 OTD and they would not budge so I walked and then found this deal and was really happy I passed up the Phoenix for my current bike which I love and loved I saved $4K.

Yes the fairing will match but if you're dead set on the Phoenix then I would work with the dealer on that. No sense in spending more money on bike that is not exactly what you want. Plus the '11's have, IMO, that ugly swingarm.

I bought a 2009 600RR non ABS almost a year ago for $7,900.00 out the door. Any dealer that still has 09's sitting on their floor wants to get rid of it to make room for the new ones. AND FAST.

I can almost guarantee if you play hard ball w/ him, he'll shake at $8K OTD. Make the offer, and if he says NO, simply get up and shake his hand, thank him and walk out. He'll most def stop you from leaving. If he doesnt, he's an idiot and you dont want to buy it from them anyway.

See if the dealer has any left over stock. Meaning the previous year still brand new. I bought my 08 CBR1000 in 09 for $6,999.

$9,000 for a 2 year 600 is not worth it. Shop around.
