I usually get it to 100F then cruise (stay in low rpms) until it reaches the normal temp of 160-170F before having fun

Check the RPM..when the bikes sounds its ready and warmed up.its should be ready to go!!!
When its cold the RMP are high but when the rmp goes down and steady.its time to rocket it!!

I think thats why the "---" is there. I don't exactly sit there and stare at the temp... I usually put on my gear while it warms up and then take it down my ramp from my porch... by then its about 100*+ and ready to go... by the time i leave my neighborhood its warm enough to give it some gas and enjoy it.

yeah thats when the choke goes off when the --- goes away, i never ride it before it warms up. when i get up in the morning for work i usually get it in the street, start it, put on gear, get on, then usually about 30 sec. later the choke goes off and it idles peacefully at 1,500

Electronic Fuel Injection bike. No need to worry about any of that. Just take off. I'd worry more about the warming the tires. That's much more important.

i would still warm the bike regardless. i wait for the --- also, theres a reason that it has ---, its not like its incapable of putting 50 or 68, or something random.its perfectly capable of all degrees but doesnt show less then 97 because you shouldnt ride below that. anyways, i think your good at 100 i agree with the majority
