Tank removal question

I have an f4i and have never worked on a rr. A buddy has a 03 rr and wants to change the spark plugs I told him I could do it no problem. Since the f4i the tank is actually the tank and the rr is a cover I was wondering if there is anything special I need to know?

RE: Tank removal question

The tank cover, at least on my 07, goes all the way under the seat. It looks like two pieces of plastic, and it is, but they are attached, It took me a few minutes to get all the screws out the first time. Just take all the screws out you think you might have to, and then shimmy it a little and it will pop.

You don't need to remove the tank to change the plugs. Remove fairings and remove radiator bolts and push it forward a bit to give you more room. Use the tool that came with the bike and its a snap.

Yeah thats what someone sent me in a pm. He said i dont need to remove the hoses just unbolt to have a little wiggle room. I dont know if my buddy has his honda tool, I would assume the the spark plug tool for my f4i is the same?

Ya just be careful not to put those hoses under to much stress they can pop off then you will have a huge mess on your hands. Good luck hope it goes easy for ya.
