Default Swing Arm Spools/sliders, 08 600RR

Has anyone with an 07 or 08 600RR installed the Sliders or Spools for the swing arm? I bought a Crash Kit that had them. I installed the Left side first, it went on fine. Then When I installed the right side, it didnot fit flush. The mount was set inside a little and the spool would not fit flush with the arm. I had to add 3 washers so the screw would not bend when I tightened it up. Anyone else had this problem?

I know when I installed my frame sliders (not shogun) I had to modify(cut) my fairings to accommodate them. Pretty sure it sounds like you'll have to do the same. As for my spools, I haven't had that problem. Goodluck and +1 on bike protection.

Haven't installed swingarm sliders yet, but I know the 07/08 swingarm is different than the '06.

Apparently the spool kits for '07+ add a small spacer to use on that side. That's the only difference.

Your washers will work, but I'm going with the more elegant solution

I got the shogun kit. And there was no spacer in the kit. Should there have been? And what is the more elegant solution? Enlighten me, please.

The more elegant solution isthe small spacer, I was just being a smartass.
BTW, the "spacer" isnothing more thanathick washer, so you have to only use one

If the kit was specifically for the '07/08 RR it should have come with either a spacer, or one of the sliders would have a narrower base to reach the mounting hole before hitting the side of the swingarm. that should be the only difference between a <'06 kit, and the newer ones.

You should have no problems running with your setup.

Gracias White, I assumed it would be ok. I should write Shogun and let them know there was no spacer.

I added some washers on mine, and I have never second guessed it. I am a stickler for details and I cannot notice them. I am not sure what brand of slider/spools they are because it was the first thing I did.

I have an 07rr with the shogun crash kit on it and it went one in about 20 minutes with ease, no difficulty at all other then locating a torq wrench to get the motor bolts back on properly.
