From Suzuki GS500 to 600RR.. Questions
I currently have a 2005 GS500F and it is nice but at times I wish it had more power. It is my first bike and a good one at that, I just think its time to move up. My question is... Would moving up to a 600RR be much of a difference? I know it will be a difference and im sure I will feel the difference, but in 6 months am I going to want to move to a 1000RR? Thanks

RE: From Suzuki GS500 to 600RR.. Questions
well yes there is a difference. I say If your going to get a 600 stick with it for a few seasons no need to jump up 100 cc's to 400 more just like that. A 600 has plenty of power for you it can go well into the high 100's mph do you really need more then that??

RE: From Suzuki GS500 to 600RR.. Questions
i can honestly say that you will not be able to outride the 600 and need to move up to the 1000 in 6 months. the gs500 is a great bike and it seems to have served its purpose (beginner bike.) the cbr600rr is lighter than your suzuki with over twice the horsepower. it is a huge jump. a lot more than you would think being only 100cc.

I too had the GS500 for my first bike, it was a great bike to learn on. I had it for a year before I upgraded to my 600rr. You will notice a pretty big difference, riding style, suspention and horsepower. I rode the rr to work the night I got it and on my way home I had a pretty good feel for it. you will love the change, I know i did!

RE: From Suzuki GS500 to 600RR.. Questions
I love my 600RR, but to be honest... I did look at the 1000RR when I was buying. The things that held me back are insurance prices because it was double. I actually was quoted $2700 annually from one company and I have a clean driving record and I'm old + married. I still don't have any where around me, like a track, where I can open the 600RR up. The only modification I've made so far is gearing. I have a -1 and -2 counter sprocket and you wouldn't believe the difference that makes it launches. I'm still running the -1 for now. It's not a bike you will out grow unless you are really, really power hungry.

The gs 500 and the 600 RR well its like comparing apples to oranges. My first bike was a honda shadow 750.150 more cc's than my 600 RR but ill tell ya what my buddy was driving the shadow when i just purchased my cbr.He told me he was in 4th gear read lined @80 something I pasted him was just entering 2nd like he was standing still.there is no comparison between these two bikes.
