Default stoppie damage, continued

turns out stoppies can damage the bike - today, for example, i came down really sideways, and high-sided. wasn't going very fast so i slid probably less than 10 feet, but the bike got rash on the upper and the tail and the mid and the lower fairings, and i got rash on my shoulder and my elbow and my helmet, and ruined a good t-shirt. next time i do stoppies, i'm wearing a jacket just in case.

stoppies, even when done correctly, damage the bike in a multitude of ways...

Exactly... Stoppies are incredibly hard on the bike.

stoppie cause stress on the forks and will probably wear out the fork valvesquicker. however, most of the of the hit goes to the rear end. the rear shock will wear out rather quick and the bikc will/may fish tail a bit.

The shock damage of hitting the ground will also make your bike feel much more 'loose'... it's like a little crash that, if repeated, will eventually cause failures of expensive parts.
