Stock sprokets

ok first i just wanted to know how many teeth are on the front and rear sprokets on my 05 600rr. Second I want more power in the low end, but i really dont want to lose to much up top, so should i just go -1/+1 or stay stock in back. Thx ahead of time for ur input.

The stock gearing is 16/43. I currently have a vortex front sprocket that is -1 tooth. Going down 1 tooth in the front pretty much equates to going -2 in the rear. It definately gives you more of a pop at the low end and doesn't affect top end too much. I stayed with the stock 525 size, I may do a 520 conversion next season.

Oops... i mean +2 in the rear. Unless you're going to do a lot of stunting... -1 +2 can be a little drastic... it all depends on what you are looking for. Just try the front... it's the easiest to install and also cheaper than the rear sprockets.

pretty sure it's 16 43 stock sprockets but this topic has been covered allot I am sure if you do a search you can find lots of comments about different setups

would u say vortex is 1 of the top brands. And another question, on a 520 conversion, does that include doing -1/0 thru -1/+2

Just remember that changing the front sprocket messes up the speedometer.

The 520 conversion can be done with any sprocket gearing you would like. You can keep stock gearing... but going with the 520 you will gain power because it is a lighter chain and sprocket. Or you can choose do any type of gearing with a 520 converison. As far as the speedometer goes, just going -1 in the front won't mess it up too bad. The lower or higher you gear it the more it will affect it. There are what are called "Speedo Healers" that can fix the speedmoter problem when chanigng the gearing. Oh and yes... Vortex is one of the top brands for Sprockets. Other good companies are Regina and Sprocket Specialists.
