Default Stock Mirrors on 05 RR

Here is a complete newbie question about the stock mirrors. I have a real difficult time seeing anything out of them that are any value. I find it difficult to change lanes, etc. Is this a motorcycle thing? I have adjusted them, leaned forward, etc. Sorry for the stupid question but I gaurentee it will not be the last.
Thanks
Thom

yeah... i know what you mean. you just have to play with the mirrors but basically you can't really see directly behind you. for lane changes i always do a quick head turn to make sure it's clear.

i rarely use them to change lanes. just to see what is behind me. i feel the safest way is to just turn your head.

Agree.. The mirrors can be used if you adjust them to see what is beside you, not behind you. I have mine adjusted just so my shoulders are out of view when I'm tucked in. I'm doing at least 80+ so I know nothing is right behind me most of the time.

When you say behind you do you mean the blind spot area or actually behind you? Behind me is the scary part. I am cruising along and then all of the sudden someone changes lanes and there they are. They come up behind me in my lane and I don't even notice it.

doncollins,
I saw your message as soon as I posted mine. You explain exactly what bothers me.

$500. Umm Cough Gag Cough. I don't think that will fit the budget today. I guess if I didn't speed once in a while I would not have to worry so much behind me....

I have my mirrors set up so when i need to look behind me i open up my arms and peek in between my arm and side. it's more to see if there's a copper behind me as i'm flying by. otherwise i just turn my head to make lane changes.
