Sport Vue on a 600RR
Ok, I finally decided to install the HUD (Heads Up Display) on my bike today. Let me tell you IT SUCKS! Not the product it self, but instillation. Having to find the Crank pulse generator wire (it's the grey one BTW) and having to get to the ECM was a pain in the a$$. I watched the 30min video and felt confident that I could do it with relative ease. NOT! I spent all day installing this thing; if you are not mechanically inclined I suggest you have a friend that is, helping you with instillation. It is NOT as easy as the instructions and video make it seem.
Now to the product. After installing the unit and having it learn the gears it is freaking awesome! I was so frustrated while installing the unit, but it was worth while. I now have gear, rpm, speed, and shift light right there on my helmet. Not having to look down to the instrument cluster is nice, but having all of that info displayed right there no matter where you look is great. I will defiantly give this product two thumbs up; I don't want to ride w/out one anymore.
I havn’t heard of anyone posting about this product yet so I figured I would give my .2 cents. This is one product that I feel was worth every penny I spent. It’s just so damn cool, had to brag.

Sorry I do not have any pics, but it looks exactly like the HUD on sportvue.com.
Instillation was not as easy on the 600RR. You have to take the tank cover off to get to the ECU. Also the RPM wire is too short, I had to make an extension by finding similary guage wire. Some of my problems came from the splice, hence I had to take the plastics off several time to diagnose the problem. However, they make it look like a 1/2 to 1 hr job on the video and instructions I can tell you it is not that easy on a 600RR. I purchased the MC1 kit (w/out the radar detector attachment) but instillation is exactly the same.
I purchased mine off ebay and the total was $200 with shipping. After riding with it for about a day and half I can honestly say I love it. Yes it was worth the money I spent. Their is more information about it at www.sportvue.com. I can only tell you about my experience and so far I am very happy I purchased this item. As with any aftermarket part you have to make your own decision on wheather you will be happy with the product or not. I myself am pleasntly suprised with the relults so far.
