On my 06 600rr the spark plug striped out, not an uncommon thing I am finding. Does any one have any idea how the fix it, the most come thing seams to be a H-coil, but it looks like a off size does any one know if the dealer has them on hand.

 

Must be something seriously wrong with the casting if thats stripping out in a lot of them, spark plugs dont take much torque at all. As for a fix, tapped out for a bigger size, and get a plug of the same heat at resistance with a bigger thread, or a h-coil like you said, although a H-coil is just a quick fix, not meant for long term usage. According to ngk, its a 10mm thread, not too hard to find in a H-coil I wouldn't say. If it was me, I'd take it to the machine shop and make a threaded insert, press it in form the other side, only way to make sure its gonna last.

 

Got the bike from a friend for $2900 because he did not want to do the work and get out of his payments. Found the coil at a part store, will be doing that and going to sell the bike I think, I don’t have much us for a 600RR, but it is a fun bike!

 

use perminex high temp red holds in place just turn the plug as far as u can

 

Aww man, what a dissapointment. I thought you put pinstripes on your plugs or painted them...
