ok so i found this.. its a zx6, what kind of front clip and lights are those? very odd. i have never seen them before.. any idea? a buddy of mine is interested in buying it

 

It's a race upper with a couple of auto style fog lights pieced on.... badly at that. Unless it's cheap I'd walk away.

 

really? damn.. its a 05 zx6, yosh pipe, 22k miles has a new tail on it to. race fairing i think, completly molded no room for a seat all one piece. he wants 3900 for it.. now he wants to trade me for my 05 cbr 600rr.. i have 33k on my cbr. good idea or bad?

haha yea i was kinda thinking that.. i just have alot of miles on my cbr.. i dont think id be able to resale it for much or how much longer it will last me..

 

FACT: There are people on this forum with over 100,000 miles on thier CBRs.

I plan on being one of those people someday with my 06 1000RR, but I only have 18k miles, so I have a long way to go.

 

true... very true.. all bias aside would you say cbrs are alot better bikes than zx6? everyone has a different opinion but what facts are out there to back up either one?

 

Review some magazine articles. I like reading the shootouts and bike comparisons and they almost always mention Honda being the most forgiving and the best for daily commuting (sportbike related). They also normally comment on Honda's attention to detail or overall fit and finish. They are very good at "holding their line" in a curve

Ninjas have some of the strongest engines

Yamis are high geared for the racetrack and transition from one curve to another very well.

Suzuks- well, I usually skip over the details on the Gixxers. Fine bikes, but I am not a big fan.

 

well why i was asking is i hear alot of storries of the 05-06 zx6s that have 2nd gear go out on their trans.. that was one of the concerns i had. my bike has 33k on it.. i know it will last but its getting to the point where resale probly wont happen unless its cheap.

 

Yes, the stories are true. ZX-6's are notorious for 2nd & 4th gear failures amoung other issues. Resale on Honda's, even higher mileage ones are better than low mileage Kawi's. I wouldn't pay more than $2000 for that bike, with that mileage.... and that's a high number.
