Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a slipper clutch? I think I know what it is by what I read, but I'm not sure.

 

A slipper clutch limits how much back toruqe the engine sees from the rear wheel by adjusting clutch plate pressure to allow the plates to make semi-contact with each other making them slip when they would otherwise grab.
