Disclaimer: I am not very mechanical but I really would like to learn how to do some of this myself, hopefully you guys/gals can offer some assistance.

I removed the side stand of my 2007 600RR because I lowered my bike a couple of inches so the side stand needs to be shortened. I took the stand to a local motorcycle shop and the owner is going to work on the stand for me.

I have one problem: I don't know how to get the spring back on when I re-attach the stand. Is there an easy way to do this? Have any of you done this before?
