Default Should I purchase this 03 - 05 cbr frame? (good deal?)

Im basically starting to start building a cbr from scratch, And was wondering if purchasing this frame would be a good start.

" 03-06 Stunt/track frame, has dent on left side above regulator mount."

Hes also told me something along the lines of
"The 600RR frame is a blank and will need to be repaired where it is damaged above the regulator mount to be rebuilt, otherwisewould be great for a stunt or track bike, or if you have a VIN you need reassigned."

Can this be turned into a salvaged/rebuilt title? And would this be a wise decision?
He has told me he could let it go for $100 cash in hand.

I assumed this would be a great place to start with my questions, since reading every so often, you all seem very helpful. Thanks in advance. I appreciate any truthful and detailed info.

I would only purchase it if your building a stunter out of it for lot riding...would you want to go top speed on a track on a frame that's damaged?

Forget street riding with it. Sounds a lil fishy also...not sure if it's legal to "reassign" VIN's, I pretty sure it's not. Find a frame that's not damaged or buy a crashed one from argocycle.com or something.

Starting with a damaged frame is not a good idea.

+1.. unless you really know what you are doing and got some good hookups.. building a bike is goin to cost more and more hassle then just picking up a used one.. or one that has been laid down

Well my friends father is a master mechanic, and actually bought, rebuilt, and sold early cbrs in the 90s. I might bring him to go see it to see what he thinks about it. Which actually, I am about to leave to see in a few minutes. Hopefully all is well. But yes, 100 bucks for the frame is fishy. *hope its not stolen*

Any more comments would be greatly appreciated.

If he's telling you to reassign VIN numbers, it probably is stolen. STAY AWAY.

A damaged frame is garbage. Let him dispose of it.

Yeah, ive considered the fact that its stolen, but ive just called around, and re titling vin numbers is a hassle, but it is possible here in texas. I bought it anyway for 50 bucks, the damage is minimal, and I have a few friends who work at a local cycle shop who have agreed to work with me on it. Hopefully it wont be a monstrosity, and all will be good by the time summer comes around.
Ill post pics another day, at the moment- i have work. :|
