Default Rode a lowered RR

My buddy has a 2007 600RR blue and silver color scheme that he lowered so he can flat foot it. He came over today and I installed a tinted windscreen, frame sliders and flush mounts for him. Then I took it out for a ride and it is different. I didn't think it was a bad as a lot of people make it sounds. You can tell it does change the handling characteristics but it was perfectly fine for street riding, wouldn't do it for the track or my bike.

ive always been interested in the handling difference between stock and lowered. even if it wasnt "as bad" as youve heard was it good? or would you prefer the stock height.

I prefer stock height but then again I'm very comfortable at stock height where he wasn't. The weirdest thing was when you go to put your feet down, you're use to having your leg go a certain distance before your foot is on the ground and on a lowered bike it hits the ground so much faster. Unfortunately I wasn't able to hit any twisties to really test the handling difference, just got to ride it around town and around town being lowered was perfect fine. It didn't scrap on anything and making turns around town was perfectly fine.

I don't know the stock spec's, but I love mine lowered. It doesn't like bumps in the road real well, but i can stand flat footed which is a plus for me.

Lowering a bike affects stability and handling of the bike. You can still ride slightly curvy roads no problem, but you will notice it when you ride aggressively on those sharper curves. Personally I wouldn't lower the height unless because you like the look.
