Review on Shoei RF1000

Well, After riding with a borrowed bell helmet ( WalMart edition) I decided to sack up and buy the Shoei RF1000.I really only wanted to spend $100-$150 after buying a Jacket and gloves last weekuntill I looked at and picked all the brands. The Shoei was more than I wanted to spend but it's worths the extra cone. It was so much lighter than most and fit well without making my face look like a 90 years old man.
I rode for about 2 hours today with it and I love it . I noticed it had a wider viewing area letf and right , also the vents were functionable. Even at low speeds it didn't fog up and at higher speeds I didn't get the blast of air blowing up from the bottom due to the deflector it came with. I only ran upto 80 ish but I noticed it had less wind noise with the visor down. I don't have much to compare it too but I think it's worth the money, I bought the 06 paint shceme ( Black red with some white in it ) to match my bike which was on special. I got it for $369 at my local Motorcycle shop.
Hope this helps for those thinking of buying a new skid lid.

I wear a gloss black RF-1000. I have no desire for any other helmet. Great choice.

Ive got the x-eleven its a little more but It is such an awsome helmet. All the same great things as the 1000 with just a little mor comfort for my head. Vents to me work a little better but both are great choices. I would recommend either.

+1 on the RF-1000. I've had Arai, AGV, and some cheaper ones, but the Shoei wins my money now.

i like the way the rf900's fit better. it's more comfortable for my funny shaped head. i ended up selling my rf1000 and kept the rf900. x11's are very nice as well but when i was at the dealership i tried on a suomy spec1r extreme and holy sh*t...that was IT. only thing is they wanted $700 for it. my budget is in the $500 range right now. i'm hoping my wife will get it for me in the near future :)

RF1000 is the way to go man good choice, I've had two now and would never change......The first one probably saved my life and kept me from being a vegetable the rest of my life....(highsided and hit head first.)

I guess it should be the last thing to go cheap on, It really does make sense to get the best. If it's not cold as hell , I will test it out some more this weekend piloting my RR.
