Returning Rider

I road a gs500 for a couple years but havent been on a bike for about 5 years. Im looking at an 08 cbr 600rr but Im little worried its gonna be too much bike for me. What do you guys think? I feel like im building it up too much in my head. I used to be a really confident rider but ive never been on a bike this powerful. Theres a 13 cbr500r for sale as well. Im wondering if id be better served with that, at least until i get my confidence back up.

Those are two very different bikes. Go with the one you like and is most comfortable for you.

Be responsible with the wrist and you will be fine with either.

Thanks man. I understand theyre very different beasts. Im just trying to get some opinions. The 600rr is the bike I want. Just wondering if i should ease myself into riding again

Get the RR then. You will be fine. It's not as if you've never ridden before....

The only concern I would have would be if the RR is comfortable for you. It's got a pretty aggressive riding position compared to other bikes. As long as your body is up to it, they are really nice bikes.

While the performance gains might be what intimidates you, the CBR is still very easy to drive. I think you'd be comfortable in no time, and in fact probably regret forcing yourself down a notch before too long if that's what you really craved. I remember feeling the same way when I went from a 600 to a 1000, but it felt very natural from the first ride and I never regretted it for a moment.
