Default Returning Rider

After giving up my bike 5 years ago for a corvette, I'm looking to get back in. I'm 40, 6'3'' and 230 lbs. I really like the looks of the Yamaha R3, but I'm worried my size and little bit of riding experience will make this bike go stale in no time. I'm only using it for a commuter, maybe putting a 1000 miles on the bike at most annually. I have an '05 600rr near me for $3500 (17,000 miles). Is this the right move (assuming the bike is clean/clear, etc.)? Any input would be appreciated.

Have you looked at the Honda cbr1100xx Super Blackbird?

I have not. I'm wondering if the 600rr isn't too much bike to be honest.

Could be that the crouched position could be your biggest problem, have a look at this and enter bikes in that you think might do your size and weight
