repairing my bike and my pride. need suggestions
BACKGROUND:
I was the proud owner of a 2003 cbr 600rr that was absolutely perfect...for about 3 weeks. I was on my way to the lake, which is about a 2 hour ride, with my buddy following me in his car. about a mile away from my driveway he rear-ended me at a stoplight. he only hit me doing about 3mph or so but you still cant hold a bike up with a car trying to rip it out of your hands. It was the first time in my adult life that i openly wept in front of a crowd of people.
Insurance- the damage on the bike is going to be 3200 to fix with oem parts at the dealer sooooo the ******* insurance company is going to try to total it out but all i really need to put it back on the road is 160.00 for the right clip-on bar & throttle assembly but the fairings will still be all scratched up and no one really wants to ride a bike that looks like hell.
MY QUESTION:
I have looked on ebay hoping someone would be parting out a bike or something like that and i found a bunch of fairing kits from Chinese companies from anywhere from $250-$400 which beats the hell out of $3200 at the shop but I'm not sure buying from any of these companies I've never heard of. HAS ANYONE BOUGHT ONE OF THESE KITS OR KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS? ARE THEY DECENT? DO THEY FIT WELL?
Thanks for reading. I hope to be back out on the road soon
