Default rear shock resevoir

so im riding yesterday in about 95 degree weather for about 30min and i stop at a gas station to fill up. as im sitting on the bike filling up my tank, i hear a loud pop. turns out it was my rear shock resevoir cap? it shot into the street but i found it. the rear shock still works fine like italways has.my question is, is this something i should get checked out by someone or should i justknock it back into place. the resevoir was wayyyyyyy hot to the touch and probably blew off from pressure. is that normal to be that hot?

shock resi's can get VERY hot from long periods or hard use in a short amount of time.

not sure about the cap, but it being hot is no suprise to me.

You need to get the nitrogen pressure checked, it shouldn't have done anything since the actaul cap is still on - you just blew the dust cover off - but I'd get it check by a suspension shop.

haha, good catch!

I would have it checked... there's no harm in it. Though that's the first time I've ever heard of the cap blowing off... wierd.
