Possible upgrade next year
 

I have learned and am still riding my 04 600 F4i. I have been riding now for 4 years. I am considering selling her next year and picking up a new 1000RR. Now I never roade a 1000 and am wondering for those of you that have it, will I enjoy it or is it maybe too much. I am a 28 yo who likes to play but mainly it would be a commuter bike. I have a good head on my shoulder so the power wont be abused...much. Also should I go for the new ABS system if I get it. That is one of the main reasons i am considering the upgrade plus the fact that I want something newer. Might even consider the 600rr with abs. Opinions please chime in

well, why are you looking for other peoples opinion on what you should do? I think you should turn gay and have fun time with men......see thats not how things work. ( unless you are already, I was just using that as an example..dont hate..) If you want to try on a liter bike, go for it, there's dealerships that allow you to test ride a bike, so go for it, if you like it do it, if you dont, dont..I understand where your coming from, so dont slap me, but really, you are in charge with you.

Wow. that was a dick answer. but whatever. basically wondering how people like the ABS versus non abs now that they offer abs on the bikes. No places around me allow u to ride the bikes first so that idea is unfortunatly out.

The magazine reviews of the Honda ABS system have all been very positive.

They suggest that for anyone other than an experienced racer/track rider that the ABS is worth it and seemless in operation.

I moved from a 03 F4i to a 08 600RR.

I'm glad I did; I love my new bike. But I really liked the F4i also.

And I have to admit that just riding around on the street there is not really all that much diff between a F4i and a 600RR 95% of the time.

I haven't even sat on a 1000RR yet so can't help there.

Maybe some 1000RR guys will check in and give some feedback.

i'd go with the 600 simply because it's more comfortable if you're going to be using it as a commuter bike. the 1000's posture is slighly more aggressive. not to mention the 09 600's have 30 more horse power than the F4i. :)

Im actually in the same situation as Glocker 23.

Ive been riding an 02 F4i for a few years now and Id like to upgrade to a bike with a little more power.

Is there anyone out there with a 1000rr that upgraded from a F4i?

Id like to know how the 1000rr rides in compairsion to the F4i. I would also be using it as a daily commuter. I also ride with my gf on the back pretty often.

I like that its size is a little smaller than the average 1000.

1. 600's have plenty of power if you hit the power band...(7k-12k+ RPM's). So much so in fact they can't be ridden to their fullest in a commute type setting...safely anyway.

2.1000's have scary power. You'll be trying to keep the front tire on the ground in gears 1-3.

3. Avoid ABS...just my opinion.

Went from a 2002 f4i to a 2007 gsxr 1000.

For daily driving there is little to no difference between them, and the gsxr is much more comfortable.

For twisities the 1000 is heavier to move around (the new honda prolly not so much) but my new bike hasn't been set up yet.

And about that wheelie thing, unless you are ripping the throttle hard the front end will not come up.

If the money is not a problem, go for abs.
