Default Pilot Power or Pilot Power 2CT

Is it worth spending the extra $60 for a set of the 2CT for just riding the street? Do the 2CT last longer or are they just a better track tire.

No they last longer 2 ct stands for two compound tread--the middle is a little bit harder rubber compound for longer wear in the middle of the tire.

I wouldn't spend the extra money for 2ct's if you are just using your bike as a daily commuter. I have 2ct's now and I don't think they lasted that long. I am thinking about getting something different for my daily commutes and sticking with the 2ct's for track and twisties. The 2ct's rocked on the track. I didn't feel them slip at all. I've had mine for 2 months and use my bike as a commuter. I did one track day on them along with twisties on Sunday's. I have maybe another couple of weeks on them.

This is all subjective to your riding style and preference. I can't get a good measure on tire wear because I've had bad luck with flats. I expected them to last 4 months though. I'd be curious to hear others experience with them. I might be expecting too much.

I'll chime in..........

I have run Qualifiers, 208 GP A's, and Pilot Powers (Standards) on mine.

Question is....... Track? Street? Commuting? What is the use of your bike? If track, you "might" be able to use the 2CT's, if not, the standard Pilot Powers will work fine. If commuting, look into something like the Pirelli Diablo Stradas. Seriously. I can drag knee pucks with my heavy *** Aprilia wearing Stradas and they last longer than anything else I have ever run.

My CBR will be seeing nothing but Pilot Powers from now on. The only way I can justify the extra funds for 2CT's is track only.

No track time. All street and commuting but not every day. I would like something to last more than 2000 miles though. But every now and then I like to drag a knee. A lot of high speed riding

Unless you are taking the bike to the track they aren't worth the money in my opinion.

well I got PP and buddy got the 2ct....yea both great tires...and 2ct warm up quicker...but for daily riding the 2ct's arent the greatest...he has a little over 1000 miles and a wear strip 2 inches in the center...also he noticed that even though the sides are softer and the middle is a medium compound....high speed and wheelies....tears up ALL tires..... IMO PP better all around tire.....and cheaper....http://sportbiketrackgear2.homestead...ghomepage.html great deals and fast shipping..... GL
