Default overheating prob

ok so i had my pegs and engine covers powdercoated i went 2 put them back on installed them took the bike into work this morning and it started to overheat got up to 270 but it would jump arround to 170 and kept on jumping back and fourth no when i came to a stop the rpms would jump also from 1000-1500 if anyone could help in any way i would appriecate it thx

thats very odd? my bike started overheating when i was at myrtle beach but that was cause we were sitting still a lot

had the bike towede into the shop 2 have it looked @ and also so i could have my frame sliders cut on the shop could not duplicate the problem drove the bike home everything was perfect

could be that you have pinched a wire maybe temp sensor?? my 600rr is a trailer queen but i do ride it on occasions...i had everything chromed on it and i have no overheating problems and i am in hell aka arizona...it was 116 today and mine got up to 230's

if the gauges read based on resistance, maybe youve got a loose connection or a loose ground. were the rpms actually jumping, or just the gauge?

it was definatly the guage that was jumping it sounded like the was a skip in the rpms but it sounds the same now but everything is fine i think it was a pinched wire also
