Default oil filter question

so i plan on changing my oil after winterization. I ran amzoil full syn last summer and suprisingly how good of an oil it is my shifting was not smooth. My question is i plan on switing to repsol blend because i herd alot of good stuff about it. However what does the filter have to do with it. Will anything make a difference if i go with the honda oem filter or stick with an amzoil filter. Will this effect anything i am assuming it has more to do with the oil itself as long as i change the filter while doing oil. My overall question is what does the filter do and will it matter what filter i go with as long as i change it. I own a 2006 cbr 600

Thanks all suggestions and help is much appreciated.

I use Amsoil in both my F4i and RR. My F4i has clunky shifting. There is no way around that, just how the bikes are made. My 07 RR shifts really smooth but I think Honda finally worked on their gearboxes for 07. I read on here that a Factory Pro Shift Star will smooth out your shifting but I have not tired it personally.

Mobil 1 Racing 4T for me and the difference was day and night in shifting.

I normally get amsoil or bosch oil filters. I use to use fram but my friend convinced me to stay away from them a few years back.
