Default new sprocket..

just recently put a new front sprocket on my bike, and it hammers... Put a fifteen tooth instead of sixteen, a highly recommend this for your 600RR, very easy installation anyone can do it.. yes you will lose a bit of top end, but not much at all, and who really needs to do 280km/ph on the street, unless of course you use it for the track... it is deffinately worth it..

Does anyone know what the procedures are to remove the neccessary parts to access that sprocket? Also (assuming that there is some sort of torque spec) what is the proper torque?

well im in australia so prices would be different for you guys in the states, but i payed $40 for mine, so $30 for you i guess...
procedures to remove sprocket..
put rear wheel on stand.. losten axel nut and losten chain right back.. undo bolt holding shifter linkage, take shifter linkage off... undo 2 bolts on the sprocket cover, pull off....undo bolt holding sprocket on, should be 14mm (to make life easyier, put bike into 1st gear to stop the sprocket turning when you try and undo it, or have a friend stand on the rear brake)... take sprocket off... clean area of unnecassary ****... put new sprocket on... reapeat process backwards...
i think thats about it... good luck.!!

i got the part from a honda dealer cos i didn't want to wait for another shop to get a vortex sprocket in, anyaway call a honda dealer, ask if they stock aftermarket sprockets for your model, they should have one in stock, otherwise you might have to wait for them to get one in.. by the way im in australia so not sure how it works over in the states, i assume it would be similar..
