Default new rider

hi, after visiting the forum for months I decided to become a member I am 22, never been on a bike before and I've been wanting to get a sport bike since I was 14, and for the past year I have been seriously thinking about buying a 2005 cbr600rr this winter for my first bike. But I still don't know if I should get one for sure because there are way too many cars on the road(specially in northern Cali) and a lot of stupit drivers...(dumbass drivers, drunk drivers, crackheads on the road and pple that just don't care about us on the road and you know...) and pple say that I could get hurt or worse or get tired of riding. What do you guys think? any advice will greatly be appreciated. thanks.

You wont ever get tired of riding. As for getting hurt. You can get hurt anywhere at anytime. Its what you do that affects your outcome in life.

look at your signature.if its true then you wont ever get tired of it.and as far as getting hurt goes a couple of important things are paying attension to your surroundings.especialy sidestreets and jackass mergers.make sure they see you.and another thing, its ok to keep that bit of fear in you.because once you lose that fear you get careless.ionno just my opinion.

Then ask your self if getting on an 05 RR(Race Replica) is the best of ideas for a first bike...u might not even like it...its agressive and can be a bit uncomfortable at first..

If you really want a sport bike you might try out an F4I. Sits a bit more comfortable than the RR. Also, keep in mind that the RR is basically a street legal racing bike. Really fast and possibly really dangerous. Lastly take a riders class from Abate or any organization that does a good Motorcycle Safety Class. I would definitely recomend a motorcycle but only with the right training.

Im here to back up the Moto Safety course. They have good advise and teach you the good habits. I am from northern Cali as well. Its a challenge out there for sure. Just dont get lazy while riding and drift off into the distance you'll wind up a road patty for sure that way. Just remember GAAT Gear at all times. With these people out here its not you you're going to have to worry about so much. Its all the crap going on around you. Remember we come from a land where blinkers dont exist.
