New to the forums, just got an 03' 600RR
I've been lurking around these forums for awhile as well as looking for a 03'-06' 600RR. I had found an 03' for $3,600 that runs great but has the lower and side fairings scuffed up pretty bad from the pervious owner. Although this is my first sport bike, it is not my first time on a sport bike. I have taken the MSF course as well and was 1 point away from a perfect score on the riding exam [:@] I'm quite aware of the power this bike has and you can believe me I'll respect it.
I plan on staying around the back roads for a little bit to get a feel for the bike before I head out to more populated roads. My main thing is practicing breaking before I head out onto busy streets.
Here are a few pictures of the bike. I have the fairings off to get a better view engine, frame, and everything else, as well to clean the bike due to the fact the person who had it before me put tire shine on the tires and its made a sticky mess everywhere.
And the fairings... I'm trying to figure out how the dents got into the lower fairings

Thanks guys.
Today I had to fab up a plate that I could mount my license plate to once I get it registered because the previous owner had broken that part off when he dropped the bike. So I was trying to think of something simple that would look clean once installed and I saw a piece of angle aluminum sitting in the corner of the garage that would work good.
First I cleaned up the plastic piece where the tag light gets mounted up to and where the tag used to be mounted to so the only thing that was left was the spot to mount the light and the turn signals.
I then cut the aluminum to be the length of the license plate, and trimmed the excess aluminum off to make it look cleaner. After it was cut and cleaned, I bent the part that the tag gets bolted up to out just a little, then painted it black. I think it came out good, and couldnt beat the price of free
Let me know what you think
