Question New Fairings, HID bulbs. A few Questions.

Hey all volcom here. As always im looking into upgrading a few things on my RR. One being new Fairings as mine have a few scratches and cracks (my idiot cousin refused to stop and let me readjust the straps while trailering my bike on the way to the DMV ). The Other being HIDs.

Anyways here is what im curious about:
  1. New Fairings
    • Quality - Whats the quality of cbrfairings products? i.e: material itself, fit, durability.
    • Instillation - I'm still a rookie when it comes to anything mechanical on motorcycles, this is my first one and i havent had it very long. Although i am mechanically inclined. As a novice will i be able to actually do the instillation myself?
    • Down Time - I Hate not being able to ride! About how long does the process take of Stripping the bike to the frame and then putting the new fairings on.
  2. HIDs
    • Bulb Types - H1, H3, H4/HB2/9003, H6... I think i made my point. I have no idea which bulb i need or which is best. (i said mechanical background not electrical )
    • Bulb Temperatures -I've heard that anything above 6000k is just losing brightness, but man those 10,000k's look sweet! How much light is actually lost? Is it going to be a noticeable difference at night to the point where i would be wishing i would have installed the 6000ks.

I think that's about all i got for now.
Im sure i'll have something else to bug you all about sooner or later.
Any Serious input would be greatly appreciated and personal experiences are even better! Thanks in advance!

Here is my review of cbrfairings.com: https://cbrforum.com/forum/product-r...review-129036/

I am probably the same for install knowledge as you just electrical is my background and it took me about 3-4 hours to do the swap and it went fairly smooth, Just a couple holes you have to drill bigger in order to make the wellnuts fit.

I belive you need H7's, I have 8000k from www.ddmtuning.com (Pic Below) and I love them. Alot of the light that you lose is at night in the rain. The higher you go the more you will notice it.
4300k - 5000k will be the brightest but 6000k and 8000k are the most popular.
With the DDM's you dont have to cut any wires its all plug and play so it makes for an easy installation. I believe someone did a how-to for HID install on an RR.

Hope that helps a bit.

Yep, get it from DDM Tuning. They use connector housing made for high temp bulbs so it will not melt down. Although it took a while before I got mine made and mailed, the recent experience in customer service was more than great. It comes with lifetime guarantee.

H7 35w is for 600rr. The color of the bulb is up to you. 4300K is similar to the stock HID light on some cars.

I never bought any extras with mine and they worked fine.

And yeah the first pic is the HID's compared to the blue coated (Claimed pure white on the package) halogens
