New exhaust without power commander

Hi everyone!! Im in the process of changing my stock exhaust with a yoshimura RS5.......got no power commander on the bike, would it work properly with the new exhaust or a power commander is needed?? And air filter, stock will do or a K&N is needed?

You can change out the exhaust with out a power coimmander or changing the air filter. HOWEVER, the bike will run A LOT more smooth if you do get and power commander and Air filter.
If money is the issue (can't afford all at once) I would get the exhaust and the filter and in the near future get the PC.
Aftermarket exhaust lets the bike breath easier the air filter will help this process and the PC will control the gas to air ratio which will make the power smoother thru the RPM's

anyone feel free to elaborate or contradict what I stated :)

I'm in the same boat, I put a slip on towards the end of last summer, and the only performance issue i've had is that at idle speed the RPM's "waver" up and down about 100rpm either way, where it used to maintain a constant speed. This is never a problem once the bike is in gear.
I wanted to do the K&N and PCIII as well, but ran out of money, and a wrench friend of mine said do them both at once, or just leave it be until you can afford it. All the filter is going to do is lean out your air/fuel mix more(less fuel, more air) which will do more harm than good. Sounded like good advice to me.

Thx mates, that makes sense to me!! And yeah money is the issue, it's a bit hard to do them all at once  I just did a 520 cov kit & ordered a steering damper so.......Anyway, thx again!!
