New best friend!
 

I finally got to take my new (to me anyways) 06 600RR today for a couple hundred miles. The Ohlins steering damper works GREAT and the new Dunlop Qualifiers took well to the bike! Bottom line is that Daddy has found hisself a new best friend! This bike ROCKS!

I will definately have to get some new springs for the front though. They are maxed out and I still have too much sag while the rear is ok. Only thing I am waiting for right now is my Woodcraft engine cases and she'll be ready for Roebling Road April 2nd!

Did the steering damper come with the bike or did you put that on yourself?

I bought the damper and installed it this past Saturday. I put it thorough it's paces a bit Sunday and think I have it dialed in to where I want it now. No worries when the front gets light out of the corners or cresting a rise while on the throttle with this thing! I pulled up a couple wheelies and landed them with the front crossed up deliberately to see how it would react and the damper quickly settled the front just like it is suppose to. I got this damper from a buddy that sells track goodies for $455. Easy to install and set up provided you have the basic tools required. By basic,I mean a socket set to pull the top clamp bolt and replace with the included bolt and bracket, and some allen wrenches to pull the tank cover front bolts, and replace with the mounting bracket for mounting the damper itself. I can post up a pic sometime if you want.

I can definately recommend a damper on these if you ride them hard!

I had to take the bike in to Lejeune Honda yesterday though due to a coolant leak. Screw it man. If it's under warrantee, they can fix it.

I also installed Stomp Grip on the tank and that **** lets your leathers hold your position against the tank big time! Well worth the $35 bucks for it!

I will be looking into ordering some RaceTech springs for the front pretty soon though. Too much static sag even with the pre-load maxed out. These forks are a little irritating too since they don't have pre-load sight lines for adjustment. I am use to being able to visually SEE where my pre-load is set, but with these you can't.
