New 600RR, Need Help!

Just picked up a new (to me) 2003 600rr. It has a Yoshi RS-5 on it, and also a power commander III usb under the rear tail cowl. I have no experience with PowerCommanders. Bike seems to run good and pull quick, but is there a way I can check if the unit is operating correctly/is set up correctly?

I haven't had the rear seat cowl cover off while the bike has been idling to look at the lights on the unit while it's running. Will those lights be on? What should I be looking for?

I will eventually take it into a local shop and have it put onto a dyno/tuned with the power commander so I know it's set up perfect, but I just want to know the basics of this unit so my bike doesn't run like poo or get damaged.

Thanks

btw I have a macbook pro. Is there a way to hook up the unit to my laptop to check it out?

What would I need to connect the unit to my laptop (im guessing a usb to usb cable)?

Links to what software I need on my laptop and also what base map to load onto the commander?

I believe tuning center has the software that they can hook up your bike to while it is being tuned on the drum.

You can go here Honda CBR 600 RR 16-023: Powercommander Downloads, Maps, Installation Guides, Accessories and Product Purchases and download the maps. You can set your power commander for your exhaust system without being tuned.

I think I'm just going to set up a time to take it into my local dynojet tuning shop and let him run it/tune it on the dyno. How long does this typically take and cost?

It'll be cool to see it spinning and getting a print out at least :) Ill post up the graph when I get it.

It will take little over 2 hours and the cost is depends on how much the shop charge per hour. For custom tuning, side fairings has to be removed from what I understand.

Would it be considered custom tuning? Ill just call them on Tuesday and ask them what standard procedure is.

Thanks for the replies guys.

BTW what kind of numbers should I be expecting?
Bike is 2003 600RR with 22k on it.
-Yoshimura RS-5
-PC III usb
-K&N Filter

Im hoping for ~110 to 115 at the rear wheel. Does this seem reasonable?

like 107-ish?

Yeah after looking at some other dyno graphs, 107-109 seems like an expected landing spot for those mods.
