Newbie: doesnt know much about bikes yet
Spec: near bone stock 03 cbr 600 rr

i just recenetly purchased a used 03 cbr 600 rr. the main problem i have right now is the brake lights stay completely on when I turn the key onto the on position. my main concern is riding at night time and getting rear ended or even in the day time for that matter concerning the faulty brake light. the brakes work perfectly fine, i just dont know were to start and what to look for.

What setup do you have? Is it all stock lights or aftermarket add ons and the seller connected things wrong? Or have you checked to see if the switchs are sticking on the levers? I've seen the rear break switch not working because the tab was bent and so on.

 

Check the switches. there's one on the brake lever (right hand) and one on the rear brake peddle behind the peg.

my money is on the rear brake.

the rear brake switch is on a screw and spring. if the screw is too tight it will pull the spring even when there is no pressure on the pedal;

just back the plastic screw off a few turns and that should clear it up

 

+1000 on baxsom .. i had the same issue on my 1000rr after i screw around with that switch behinde the right peg .. just turn that screw alittle bit till u see the brake light comes off .. and here u go.

 

well it turned out to be the one on the handle, the bar is not pushing the switch all the way inside, how do you adjust the bar?
