my back hurt....

RE: my back hurt....
depends on where in your back it hurts. If its your upper back, like by your shoulders, stop locking your arms. that puts a large amount of unneccisarystress on your spine. If its lower back, squeeze the tank with your legs more, its amazing hom much of a diffecence that makes. I have a herniated disk in my lower back from diving, and s\its amazing how much squeezing the tank helps

...i also hurt my back...mine was the lower back, mild sprain....the thing that the Doc told me was most important, after allowing enough time to heal, was to stretch before you ride...stretch your back both directions, and also stetch your pelvis, quads, and butt too.....you will be surprised how much better you will feel at the end of the ride.....hardest thing for me is to have enough willpower to stay off my bike or out of my go-kart long enuogh to heal....aaarrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!

There's some really good info on here. Some of the things that I've learned over the years are: 1) You DON'T want a "death grip" on your handlebars 2) Your wrist should be "parallel" with the road 3) The "*****" of your feet should be on the pegs...there's so much more but just like ITG said said you'd be suprised how much a "little" change can make.

RE: my back hurt....
yeah i have 2 herniated discs, and degenerative disc disease in my lower back.
i feel more comfortable on my bike than i do sitting in my car seat.
since i started riding about 6 months ago, my back has been getting a LOT better.
seems like it should be the opposite... but now i've been having pains in my upper back. gotta be careful about those ergonomics.
