Congrats on your new bike! That new white color scheme is pretty bad ***!
This bike looks MUCH better in person than it does in pictures...I didn't like the initial pictures I saw of this bike...Saw it on Friday & sat on it & let me tell you, it's a sweet frickin bike! I doubt anyone will be disappointed with this bike...Very nice weight reduction & added HP...You can't beat that formula...

Is the "negotiations" for buying a bike the same as when buying a car?
(Meaning can you try to haggle the price down like with a dealership, or do they not try to rape you with ridiculous mark ups like they do at car dealerships)
Extreme: congrats on the bike...now the first thing you need to do with the bike is take the MSF course being that this is your first bike.

Extreme, you got jipped the f**k off! $11K for a 600, Jesus, yeah, all the dealerships are going to mark the new 600's up, but $2K above MSRP...if that's just for the bike, yeah, you DIDN'T get a good deal, sorry to have to say that, but...also, sometimes they'll approve you for more that just the bike, like, if the bike was $9.5K, the other $2K is like "extra" credit, so you can use it to buy an exhaust or something.

There are usually three primary components to the pre-tax price of a new bike at a dealership:
[ol][*]Price of the bike[*]Freight (the cost of getting the bike from port to the dealership)[*]Set-up (the cost of pulling the bike out of the crate and putting it together)[/ol]
Numbers 2 and 3 are bull**** and should be negotiated of the price. This topic is often times contentious since dealers will argue that they have to incur those costs as real costs, yet the position of buyers is that this is a cost of doing business and should be absorbed into the operating margin. In either case, the cost they ask for on freight and setup are over-inflated (e.g. :set-up" is usually $500 - this is for uncrating the bike, filling the fluids and bolting on the clip-ons on the forks - maybe a few other minor things).
So the short answer is: "yes" they try to add mark-ups and screw you and "yes" you can negotiate the price down. On Japanese bikes, I have always paid an out the door total that's less than the original MSRP (it may be difficult to do this with hot bikes like the CBR600RR right now). On my Ducatis and my old HD, I paid MSRP and tax.
So to ExtremeCreation: you should paid no more than $9,499 plus tax = about $10,250-ish. If they are unwilling to move on the price, wait a month or two when these bikes are plentiful from the factory and they're sitting on the showroom floor. You might even get a discount!
