Default Motocycle Stands

I'm a DIY hands on guy when it comes to my machines. So I will do my own oil changes, and other basic maintenance on my new RR.

Which motorcycle stands are the good ones?

Where do you get the best price?

Do I need front AND rear? Or just rear???

Thanks in advance!!

I like Pit Bull stands...very sturdy...in fact, solid as a rock! If you plan on taking your front wheel off , then you need a front stand for sure...the fork lift type should be fine for basic stuff on the front, but if you intend on removing the forks then get the pin style that lifts from the stem.

I have a rear stand only. I got a universal swing arm one on Ebay and really like it. My bike sat on the rear stand for about 4 months over the winter and it didn't move an inch.

i can vouch for the quality of pit bull stands. they are extremely sturdy and easy to use. i only have a rear stand though. as for front stands, i've heard really good things about woodcraft

www.checkeredflagmotorsports.net is where i got my stands. he basically took a set of pitbulls and made his own version with a few changes for the better. the front and rear are $125 shipped and are adustable on both front and rear. you can get them for spool and pad styles. ive owned a couple of diffrent kind of stands and these are the best ive had. i would put these up against pitbulls any time when it comes to quality and sturdiness.

It's nice to see a review of the checkeredflag stands. They look good and I wished I had seem them before I bought my Vortex stands.

I have the front that lifts from the steering stem incase I need to rebuild my front forks anytime soon.

The only thing I didn't like about the PitBull stands as the single wheel. The vortex has the double set which looks more stable to me.
