More horsepower?
Newbie here..Got a question of course?? I just had an arata slip-on and power commander installed yesterday to my 04 600rr, and I was trying to firgure out what the average gain in horsepower I should have gotten... the shop I took it to this was the specs
Stock H/P 104.2 TQ 43.9 Pipe/commander H/P 110.1 TQ45.7 I was hoping to gain at least 10 horsepower but only got about 6 was wondering if this is correct or try to have some other shop dyno?? |
RE: More horsepower?
I think most company use the good old Marketing hype to get people to think bikes are going to be night and day after a few minor mods. I think 6 is realistic. A pipe will net you about 2 or 3, then remapping maybe another 2 or 3. To get 10 I think some port polishing, and other more intrusive mods would have to take place based on 16+ years ir motorcycle and tuning experiance.

RE: More horsepower?
Be happy for the 6hp. The real advantage to the pipe/PCIII is WHERE you get the horsepower and torque. Should start lower and the stock EPA flat spot should be gone.

RE: More horsepower?
You get more response i.e. throttle, torque, hp.... with sprockets and a 520 conversion.
LESS REVOLVING MASS releases more hp and torque you dont use... (maybe i worded it wrong but its basically what I understand about it, and what I have felt.) EXHAUST & PC ehhhhhhhh 4/10 SPROCKETS & 520 CONVERSION WEEEEEE! 10/10 That should be your next 140$ conversion!... You'll LOVE your bike then lol... |
RE: More horsepower?
Changing the sprockets are out of the question for me. Geez, this thing already turns at 6900 rpms at 80mph! I really wish it had a 7th gear.
